96 points Wine Advocate—only 2,000 bottles from two legendary winemakers. Raúl Pérez and Rodrigo Méndez (Forjas del Salnés) joined forces for this single-parcel Albariño from Val do Salnés, Rías Baixas' coolest, most mineral subzone. Decomposed granite with silt from the oldest vines. Indigenous yeast fermentation in 1,500-liter foudres, 12 months maturation. Tropical fruit, citrus, and mineral notes with vibrant acidity and extended finish.

More about Pazo da Sinsela

A joint venture started in 2021 by Raul Perez and Rodrigo Mendez—old friends from Forjas del Salnes in Rías Baixas. They leased a pazo of grand cru potential in Sisan with three hectares of Albariño, just 10 kilometers from the sea, silky soils near the Umia River. The first wine ferments naturally in mostly used oak; the second (San Clemente) ages in a 1500-liter foudre for 12 months. Both speak in a voice that's fresh, salty, minerally—the true sound of Rías Baixas.
