The 2017 Savoy Vineyard Pinot Noir reflects the same vintage advantages as the Pomarium, but with Savoy's signature elegance rather than power. The vineyard's terroir—those marine soils, the coastal position—comes through clearly in a vintage that preserved acidity beautifully despite the summer heat.

At nine years old, this wine shows the kind of elegant maturity that makes Savoy special. Bright red fruits, that subtle mineral salinity, and refined tannins make this a wine for refined food—roasted fish, lighter preparations, or cheese. The 2017 was promised to be an excellent quality vintage, and this wine confirms it. The balance between ripeness and elegance, structure and finesse, is nearly perfect. The coastal climate moderated the heat from the fire-plagued late season, creating a wine with both ripeness and brightness. A beautiful expression of how the Savoy site, even in challenging years, creates wines of grace and refinement. The tannins are soft and resolved, the acidity bright, the overall impression one of sophistication and elegance.
