Domaine Pierre Morey’s Pommard 1er Cru Grands Epenots is a wine that speaks to both the power and precision of Pommard’s terroir. The 2022 vintage is an excellent example of this, offering rich, dark fruit flavors—blackberry, cherry—alongside earthy, savory notes of tobacco, spice, and a subtle undercurrent of floral hints.

The wine’s structure is firm, with tannins that are present but finely integrated, offering support without overpowering the delicate fruit. The minerality typical of the Côte de Beaune adds an extra layer of complexity, creating a long, clean finish. The wine shows both the power that Pommard is known for and the subtlety that Pierre Morey brings to his wines.

This is a wine that will evolve beautifully with age, but it’s also already approachable with a little decanting, making it ideal for both collectors and those looking to enjoy it in its youth.

More about Pierre Morey

Electric minerality from Burgundy's biodynamic trail-blazer. Certified organic since 1992 and biodynamic since 1997, Pierre Morey makes whites (especially from Meursault's clay-limestone soils) that crackle with citrus, green pear, and crushed-shell minerality. The wines are taut, linear, alive—proof that biodynamic farming translates directly into the glass.

Pierre Morey is a towering figure in Meursault. Along with his own prime vineyards he was also the winemaker at Domaine Leflaive in the 1980's and early '90's. He was one of the first growers in the region to fully embrace biodynamic farming, converting both Leflaive and his own domaine and reaching full certification by 1997. Now his daughter, Anne Morey, has taken the healm and is continuing on the path he started. She is a very intelligent, passionate and gracious person and her talents in the vineyard and cellar are exceptional.
