The Produttori del Barbaresco's straight Barbaresco is one of the great values in all of fine wine: a blend drawn across the co-op's top holdings that drinks beautifully and ages with grace, from one of Piedmont's most respected addresses. Expect classic, traditional Barbaresco, rose, tar and red cherry, with real structure for the money. The 2012 was a solid, fairly classic vintage producing balanced, approachable wines with good freshness, and at this maturity it's settling into a lovely drinking window where primary fruit gives way to savory, dried-flower complexity. This is ready to enjoy now with a decant. A benchmark Barbaresco and a perennial cellar staple.
