The Rabajà cru in twenty-year form, from Barbaresco's most beloved cooperative. Produttori del Barbaresco was founded in 1958 by small growers in the village and only bottles its nine single-cru Riservas in vintages strong enough to merit the extra time — roughly five years before release (three years in large Slavonian botti plus six to twelve months in bottle). Rabajà is consistently ranked among Barbaresco's grand crus alongside Asili and Martinenga, prized for its structured, broad-shouldered profile and remarkable longevity. The 2005 vintage in Piedmont was an average year that produced approachable, mid-weight wines, and at two decades on, this Rabajà sits comfortably in its mature phase — primary fruit gone savory, tannins fully integrated, the cru's signature structure carrying everything in stately equilibrium. The fairest-priced great mature Barbaresco on the planet, full stop.

Antonio Galloni

"A dark, powerful wine, the 2005 Barbaresco Riserva Rabajà is one of the few 2005 Riservas that could use a few more years in bottle, as the tannins remain searing. Still, all the Rabajà comes through loud and clear. Black fruit, graphite, smoke, licorice and melted road tar are some of the signatures. The Produttori's Rabajà is often a big, muscular Barbaresco. That is exactly what readers should expect with the 2005." —Antonio Galloni

"A delicious nose of ripe fruit and Indian spices, with perfumes. Full-bodied, with velvety tannins and a beautiful core of fruit. Features blackberry, chocolate and citrus fruit on the finish."
