Rabaja is one of Barbaresco's most celebrated crus, a south-facing amphitheater of calcareous marl producing some of the village's most complete and long-lived wines, and this Produttori del Barbaresco Riserva is single-vineyard Nebbiolo that's among the great values in age-worthy wine, rewarding the cellar at 5, 10, 20, even 30 years. Rabaja marries power and perfume better than almost any site in Barbaresco. The 2011 was a warm, early vintage giving generous, slightly riper wines with rounder, more accessible tannins, so this Riserva offers earlier pleasure than the classic vintages while keeping cru-level depth. It's drinking well now with a decant, with the structure to keep evolving. A great way to taste Rabaja in a more open mood.
