Francois Raquillet is one of Mercurey's benchmark growers, and Les Naugues is among the best Premier Cru sites in this Cote Chalonnaise village. An 11th-generation vigneron who took over the family estate in 1990, Raquillet farms 100% Pinot Noir here, making serious, age-worthy red Burgundy at a fraction of what the Cote d'Or commands. The 2014 was a fine, classic Burgundy vintage for reds, and at a decade-plus this is drinking in a lovely mature window now. Smart value in real Burgundy from a top address.
