Professional Reviews

Antonio Galloni

AG 90
"The 2022 Pernand-Vergelesses Rouge is nicely focused and quite floral in style, offering plenty of juicy red cherries and wild strawberry fruit on the nose. The palate is medium-bodied with ample red fruit and gentle grip. There is a pleasant "verticality" to this modest Pernand that delivers plenty of sapidity on the approachable, pliant finish. For the price, this is worth seeking out. Tasted at merchants' 2022 Burgundy tastings in London." -Neal Martin

What importer Rosenthal Wine Merchant has to say about this wine...

A classic rendering of a truly underappreciated red Burgundy appellation, Rollin’s Pernand-Vergelesses Rouge comes primarily from two old-vines parcels: one in the lieu-dit of Les Pins in the northern part of the village, and the other in Les Noirets on the southern side, both of which face eastward. Compared to their better-known brethren in Savigny-les-Beaune, the red wines of Pernand-Vergelesses tend to be more firmly mineral, more savory, and more finely wrought.

Focus On: Burgundy

Burgundy has long been the world's most famous wine region. But, underneath all the prestige, this region can be hard to get to know.

While Burgundy offers many great trophies from top producers in well-known villages like Vosne Romanee and Puligny Montrachet, it also offers excellent values to anyone willing to explore beyond the famous names. Our collection– one of the largest in the U.S. – has plenty of both!

From the very basics of Burgundy's regions and wines to the specific terroirs of individual single vineyards--
everything you need to know about Bourgogne is just a click away!
