Honest, terroir-true Savigny from the village's benchmark domaine. Simon Bize et Fils is the reference producer of Savigny-les-Beaune, championing the kind of grounded, food-friendly red Burgundy that overdelivers without the famous-name markup. Bourgeots is a village-level lieu-dit, more approachable and earlier-drinking than the estate's premier crus, but cut from the same careful, traditional cloth. The 2010 was an excellent, structured Burgundy vintage with lovely freshness. Now well into maturity, it's a delicious, savory pour. Drink over the next couple of years.
