"Disgorged in October 2024 with three grams per liter dosage, the 2018 Extra-Brut Montigny-sur-Vesle La Grande Vigne comes from 0.2 hectares of ungrafted Pinot Meunier (planted in 1969) growing in deep sandy soil where roots don’t reach the chalk bedrock. Matured mostly in a five-hectoliter barrel from Stockinger (complemented by one 228-liter barrel this year), it’s a charming yet vibrant rendition, offering up a bouquet of red berries, honeysuckle and cracker. Medium to full-bodied, laden with bright acidity and complemented by a pillowy mousse, it will reward some patience." —Kristaps Karklins
