Susana Balbo graduated from Don Bosco University in 1981 as Argentina's first female enologist and faced hostile working conditions including sabotaged equipment. After 20 years consulting, she founded her brand in 2000 and built her winery in Agrelo in 2001, eventually serving three terms as President of Wines of Argentina. This Signature Malbec (96% Malbec, 4% Petit Verdot) comes from Finca La Delfina vineyard in Paraje Altamira at 1,150 meters elevationā€”the Uco Valley's first GI declared on terroir research. Sandy loam over limestone with heavy silt and large rocks. Aged 13 months in French oak (30% new). Black-fruited and savory with tobacco and herbal accents, inky and concentrated yet precise. For grilled beef or hearty stews.
