In the heart of the Champagne region, Tellier’s La Goutte d'Or Extra Brut 2020 stands out as a beautifully crafted expression of the land. Sourced from carefully selected parcels, this Champagne reflects the estate’s dedication to highlighting the unique characteristics of its terroir. With a minimalist approach to winemaking and a focus on purity, this Extra Brut offering showcases a perfect balance of fruit, texture, and structure.

The 2020 vintage opens with bright citrus—lemon and grapefruit—complemented by subtle floral and brioche notes, the result of extended lees aging. On the palate, the wine is crisp and lively, with vibrant acidity that lifts the fruit and ensures the wine remains fresh and precise. The finish is clean and mineral-driven, with lingering hints of salinity that echo the Champagne’s chalky soils.

Tellier’s La Goutte d'Or is an excellent choice for those who appreciate the elegance of Champagne with a bit more structure and depth. It pairs beautifully with seafood, shellfish, or light appetizers, but its complexity also makes it delightful on its own, offering a true expression of Champagne's artisanal craftsmanship. Whether enjoyed now or cellared for a few years, this Champagne is a celebration of the terroir and the meticulous work behind each bottle.

More about Tellier

Young brothers Quentin and Alexandre Tellier took over their family's vineyard in 2016, transforming it from contract grape-growers to terroir-obsessed vignerons. Thirteen parcels across Moussy, Cramant, and the Côte des Blancs, farmed organically, fermented in barrel with wild yeast. Grower Champagne done right.

Champagne

Champagne boasts some of the world’s greatest luxury brands with Krug, Cristal and, of course, Dom Perignon. But it’s also home to hundreds of small dynamic producers—farmers who grow their own grapes (often organically) and make (often with natural methods) tiny amounts of pure and absolutely delicious wine that reflect the individual personalities of their villages and terroirs. Toast with these wines, for sure. But also treat them like the great wines they are: taste, drink, explore!
