Kapelle (chapel) is the highest, southernmost parcel within Tement's flagship Zieregg vineyard — 1.48 hectares at 470 meters, with all-day sun, heavy clay and loam over coral limestone. The wine is a monumental expression of Styrian Sauvignon Blanc: spontaneously fermented and aged 30 months in old oak, then bottled unfiltered. Forget any preconceptions about Sauvignon as a light aperitif. This is something else entirely — a structured, textured, multi-layered white meant to age, and to sit alongside the great Sauvignons of the world. Pull the cork an hour ahead or, better, plan to drink it over two evenings.
