A son's tribute, bottled. Thibaud Boudignon names this top Anjou Blanc for his late mother Françoise and his father François, declining to release the cuvée in any vintage where he feels the wine wouldn't honor them. The fruit comes from his oldest Chenin Blanc vines (around 40 years) on shallow schist, rhyolite and sand in Anjou, and beginning with 2021 the wine gets two extra years of aging before release. The 2023 is laser-cut and weightless on its feet: chalk, white peach, salted citrus and honeysuckle, with the quiet density that marks Boudignon's Savennières at this level. One of the Loire's most personal dry whites — and one of its most quietly profound.

More about Thibaud Boudignon

Thibaud left Bordeaux to pursue Cabernet Franc obsession in the Loire, making Savennieres that taste like minerals and slate. Biodynamic, old vines, fresh Rosé that tastes like slate and water meeting in a glass.

What has to say about this wine:

Tasting Notes & Food Pairings

Perfect Pairings

A wine for the white-tablecloth Chenin moments: butter-poached lobster, sole meunière, scallop crudo with citrus, or roast chicken with herbs. Also stunning with aged Comté or a young Loire goat cheese.

Tasting Profile

Bone-dry, medium-bodied and built on quiet tension. Chalk and crushed stone first, then white peach, salted lemon, honeysuckle and orchard blossom. Long, mineral, almost weightless finish with serious aging potential.

Our collection celebrates the region’s great diversity, with the mineral-driven whites of Muscadet and Sancerre, the beautiful Chenin Blancs and Cabernet Francs from villages like Vouvray and Chinon, and natural wines from everywhere in the region. Sometimes wonderfully fresh and gulpable, sometimes serious and age-worthy, the prices are always very reasonable.
