Boudignon's newest single-vineyard Savennières and a glimpse of where he's headed. Clos Devant Le Jeu — "jeu" here comes from a Gaulish word for wooded hill, not games — is a two-hectare site he began planting in 2020 and completed in 2023, all via massal selection drawn from top Loire estates for genetic diversity and naturally small yields. The terroir is warm, south-facing, and dominated by grey schist with a darker, denser profile than his sandier parcels, lightly threaded with sand. The 2023 reads as a young-vines wine — energetic, mineral, transparent — but the bones of structure and grip Boudignon is chasing here are already visible. A future cellar wine in its first chapter.

Tasting Notes & Food Pairings

Perfect Pairings

While young, lean toward fresh and bright: raw oysters, ceviche, goat cheese salads, grilled white fish with lemon. With a few years the structure will fill out and welcome richer Chenin pairings like roast chicken or scallops.

Tasting Profile

Bone-dry, medium-bodied, energetic. Citrus zest, green apple, white flowers, chalk and crushed stone, with the darker schist grip starting to show through. Young-vines transparency now; structure and depth coming.
