The 2023 Cheverny Rouge "Gravotte" from Tue-Boeuf is a delightful expression of the Loire Valley’s natural elegance, offering a beautiful balance of ripe red fruit and subtle spice. The wine opens with bright aromas of cherry, raspberry, and strawberry, complemented by a delicate floral note and a whisper of earthiness.

On the palate, the wine is fresh and medium-bodied, with smooth tannins that provide structure while maintaining a soft, inviting texture. The acidity keeps the fruit lively, while a hint of spice adds depth and complexity. The finish is clean and balanced, with lingering red fruit flavors that make each sip refreshing.

This Cheverny Rouge pairs wonderfully with roasted poultry, grilled vegetables, or a charcuterie board. While perfect for immediate enjoyment, its balanced structure suggests it will continue to evolve with age, offering even more complexity as it matures.

What importer Bowler Wine has to say about this wine...

95% Pinot Noir/5% Gamay. Named for the site, which roughly translates to "little gravelly one", Gravotte comes from a single 1.2-hectare plot of estate vines in the 35-40-year-old range, planted on particuarly stony, flinty clay-limestone soils; it is organically farmed and harvested by hand. Typical of Tue-Boeuf reds, the whole clusters go through a semi-carbonic maceration and spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts and without sulfur in vat. Gravotte is aged around 6 months in used demi-muids and Burgundy barrels. The wine is bottled without filtration and with little to no sulfur. It is classified as AOC Cheverny.
