Sam Neill founded Two Paddocks in Central Otago in 1993 and has spent the last three decades quietly building one of New Zealand's most respected certified-organic Pinot estates. The 2023 estate Pinot is a barrel selection drawn from his four certified-organic vineyards across Bannockburn, Earnscleugh, Alexandra, and Gibbston - each contributing its own dialect of Central Otago: structure from Red Bank, fragrance from Fusilier, lift from Last Chance, perfume from First Paddock. Hand-picked, partially destemmed, wild-fermented, and aged in French oak with a light hand of new wood. The result is a bright, focused, slightly wild Pinot that gives away nothing to its Hollywood pedigree.
