Valdespino, one of the oldest and most traditional bodegas in Jerez, crafts Promesa from 100% Moscatel grapes, grown near the coast in Chipiona where the variety thrives. After harvesting, the grapes are sun-dried (asoleo) to concentrate sugars before fermentation and aging in the traditional solera system.

The result is a deep mahogany wine with intense aromas of orange blossom, dried apricot, fig, toffee, and exotic spices. On the palate, it’s rich and unctuous yet lifted, with natural acidity that keeps the sweetness from feeling cloying. The finish is long, floral, and slightly savory—making it a natural match for blue cheese, spiced desserts, almond pastries, or simply a post-dinner glass on its own.

"The NV Moscatel Promesa is produced from Moscatel grapes grown in Chipiona and aged in a solera system with an average age of four years. It is bottled with 237 grams of sugar and 17% alcohol. It shows a dark amber color and shows the younger side of Moscatel with a complex nose of orange rind, honeysuckle, chocolate, coffee, flowers and spices, with well integrated aromas. The palate shows a dense, compact wine, full of spices and balsamic flavors, with the orange notes coming back in the long finish, managing to keep some freshness." —Robert Parker
