Névtelen exposes Philip Oser's (the owner) taste for the classic regions of Europe. When he started planting 20 years ago, he went with both indigenous and international varietals to test the quality he felt was inherent here. He was well ahead of the curve with the red grapes, noticing how this white wine region was warming up and was well suited for low-alcohol, high-acid red wines, which were becoming all too scarce in his beloved Burgundy and Bordeaux. His bet has paid off, with all of his reds capturing the swooping breezy hillsides—they are full of energy, elegance and nerve. This Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot is no exception and with 5 years of age, is just starting to really show its multi-faceted colors.
