As the vines here turned 20 I can't help but wonder if that has something to do with the impeccable mouthfeel of this wine. Like a clear bubbling spring, it shows the purity of Sauvignon Blanc, with perfectly balanced acidity to keep it lifted off your palate, gently floating across your tongue and toward a creamy, briny, smoky finish. Sauvignon Blanc nerds can expect to feel it has one foot in the Loire and the other in Styria, a wholly under-appreciated bastion of the grape. The old-world profile is shaped by 50% of the wine resting in large Stockinger barrels, muting some of SB's more wild aromatics and lending itself to the seamless texture.
