Vincent Ledy is a cult figure of the Cote de Nuits who started from scratch in a region where the best land is usually inherited, cutting his teeth at Domaine Lecheneaut, scraping together tiny parcels of old vines and making his first vintages in his garage. He's a master of the 'infusion' style: terrified of new oak, he leans on whole-cluster fermentation, native yeasts and near-zero sulfur, gently steeping the fruit like tea. This Chorey-les-Beaune from the Les Beaumonts lieu-dit is one of his more accessible, early-drinking bottlings, charming and light on its feet. The 2012 has plenty of age on it, so drink up rather than cellar.
