Vincent Ledy is a cult figure of the Cote de Nuits who started from scratch, cutting his teeth at Domaine Lecheneaut and making his first vintages in his garage. He's a master of the 'infusion' style, relying on whole-cluster fermentation, native yeasts and near-zero sulfur, and a near-phobia of new oak. Les Porets is his star: a 1er Cru from old vines that flips the script on muscular Nuits-Saint-Georges with ethereal, Chambolle-like elegance over a stony, structured finish. This is the most serious wine in his range and the most worth seeking out. The 2012 has real bottle age now and is drinking in its mature window.
