Emmanuelle Verset farms parcels tied to Noël Verset's legacy, including the legendary Champelrose that her father Alain took over, and carries the family's obsessive dedication to precise winemaking. Noël, the genius Cornas producer whose bottles now fetch a fortune at auction, stopped making wine in 2006; this is the through-line, carried into the next generation. Verset farms top sites with older vines in the granite hills of Cornas, working with respect for terroir and a love of tradition, and this bottling blends her lieux-dits across the hill — Champelrose, Reynard, Les Mazards, La Côte and Les Côtes. It is 100% Syrah from the Northern Rhône's most uncompromising appellation. 2020 was warm and dry with enough winter water in the soil to keep the vines comfortable, so the wine carries real concentration and depth without excess alcohol. Give it air, or tuck it away for years.
