This is a great producer of Taurasi from the village of Taurasi itself, where the family possesses very old vines (some over 175 years old!). We are fortunate that the importer has been working with Guastaferro since they got started at the beginning of the century, and were smart enough to put some cases aside for later release. This 2008 is singing right now!

More about Cantine Guastaferro

Raffaele Guastaferro inherited old vines and made them legendary. His 175-year-old pre-phylloxera Aglianico is unique to Taurasi—not just old, but unrepeatable. Intense, concentrated, elegant: this is what happens when history meets obsession.
