Principessa Coralia Pignatelli della Leonessa is the thoughtful, philosophical driving force behind Castell'in Villa in Castelnuovo Berardenga at the south end of Chianti Classico. She traveled to Argentina to study Malbec, proving her commitment to understanding wine globally before refining her own approach locally. Old-fashioned farming, indigenous yeast fermentations, aging in neutral old oak—these Sangiovese-based Chianti Classico and Riserva age beautifully and reward patience. This is fine, traditionally made Chianti from someone who takes her time to get things right.
