Vaudecorse (sometimes spelled Vaudécorse or Vaudécorce) is technically a village-level Chablis, but only on paper. The Picq family's parcel sits directly adjacent to the Premier Cru of Vaucoupin, the vines were planted in the early 1980s on identical Kimmeridgian clay-limestone soils, and the wine in your glass drinks at a level easily equivalent to a top 1er Cru. This is the kind of insider bottling that veteran Chablis lovers stockpile when they see it — a stealth Premier Cru at village pricing. Didier and Pascal Picq ferment with indigenous yeasts and raise the wine in stainless steel, the better to showcase Vaudecorse's stony intensity. The 2024 vintage shows everything we love about Picq: cut, salinity, depth, and that signature Chablis tension that makes you want another glass before you've finished the first.

"The 2024 Chablis Vaudécorse has a well-defined bouquet with a slightly earthier personality than the Chablis Village. Damp moss and gladed pond notes emerge with time. The palate is fresh, taut, very crisp and malic in style with a dash of white pepper toward the finish.
