David Croix came to Beaune with a winemaker's eye and has spent two decades building one of the Côte de Beaune's most respected newer estates. His Bressandes from 2005 — now fully mature — is a library wine that shows exactly what Beaune's premier crus can achieve with age. Bressandes is one of Beaune's finest vineyards, planted on limestone-rich soils in the heart of the appellation, and at twenty years old this wine has found the kind of depth and evolved character that only patient cellaring produces. An extraordinary drinking opportunity.

Burghound

"Here the nose is more deeply pitched and more serious with ripe red pinot fruit cut with notes of plum and violets that merge seamlessly into rich, full and detailed flavors that offer up distinct mineral hints on the focused and dusty finish. This is a really pretty effort that is well balanced, intense and long. Recommended." —Allen Meadows

Wine Spectator

"Packed with black cherry, blackberry and mineral aromas and flavors, this red walks the line between polished and powerful. Concentrated yet smooth, with a harmonious structure and excellent length. Appealing now for its beautiful fruit flavors, but will get more complex."

More about Domaine des Croix

If you aren't with familiar with Domaine des Croix, there is one thing you should know: we love David Croix! He begin his winemaking career straight out of viticulture school when he took over the reigns at Camille Giroud (as well as working with Guy Roulot), when he was just 24 years old. In 2016 he quit his day job to focus entirely on his own small domaine, which he purchased back in 2005.
