This is the Dunn, the flagship that made the name. Randy Dunn planted on Howell Mountain in 1978 and helped turn it into an official AVA, and his mountain Cabernet remains a touchstone of classic, cellar-worthy Napa. The vineyards sit above 1,400 feet, where cool breezes tempered even the heat spikes of 2022, drawn entirely from the family's five estate parcels. Expect firm, graphite-led mountain structure framing rich fruit, with beams of tannin built for the long haul. Buy it, forget it in the cellar, and be rewarded years from now.
