Vino Nobile di Montepulciano has recently enjoyed a revival. The whole DOC has rediscovered itself and its very high potential; elegant examples of Sangiovese are now being produced by dozens of producers. Le Berne is one — expect typical flavors of red and sour cherry, fresh-cut herbs, fennel, and strawberry, and a sleek, juicy structure.
