Luis Rodriguez Vazquez is one of the heroes of Ribeiro, the rugged Galician region near the Portuguese border, where since 1988 he's quietly resurrected nearly extinct native grapes that Franco-era plantings had pushed aside. A Teixa is his single-vineyard white, led by Treixadura with Godello and Albarino, off granite terraces. It's a rounded, mineral, refined introduction to his whites, with the salinity and granite imprint that define his wines. Drink now or hold a few years.
