Domaine de Triennes was established in 1989 by three legendary winemakers—Jacques Seysses (founder of Domaine Dujac), Aubert de Villaine (owner of Domaine de Villaine and former associate director of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti), and Michel Macaux. Their mission was to craft wines in Provence that reflected the region's terroir and the winemaking traditions they had developed in Burgundy. The 'Saint Auguste' cuvée represents Triennes's vision of Provençal red wine: a blend of Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot grown on the estate's 100% organic (Ecocert certified) vineyards. This 2022, at two years of age, displays rich dark purple color with bright ruby highlights, offering alluring aromas of ripe black cherries, nutmeg, and clove. The palate is full and concentrated, with tannins that are already resolving, and the complexity that promises development over the next 10-15 years. This wine can be enjoyed upon release and will continue to develop gracefully.
