Brézé is known for its whites—its cool, chalky soils, and long-aging Chenin. But on the lower slopes of this famed hill, Clos Mazurique grows Cabernet Franc that tells a different story: less about ambition, more about purity and pulse. Arnaud Lambert, one of the Loire’s most thoughtful voices, treats this parcel with quiet care—certified organic, harvested early, and raised without makeup.

The 2023 is crisp and lifted. No oak, no extraction, no fuss. Just red fruit, limestone snap, and the kind of natural balance that makes the second glass a given. It’s not trying to be a statement wine. It’s trying to be a good bottle—and it is.

Serve it slightly chilled. Pair it with nothing at all or everything in your fridge. Clos Mazurique doesn’t shout, but it’s hard to forget.

Brézé, a village nestled in the AOC of Saumur, is one of the Loire’s greatest terroirs. Cool climate, tuffeau (limestone) mother rock with clay, sand and limestone topsoils, it has long been considered one of France's greatest white wine sites. It's known today as the source of Clos Rougeard’s white and the famous Chateau de Brézé.
