Chateau d'Yquem is the legendary first-growth of Sauternes, the only estate ranked Premier Cru Superieur in 1855 and the benchmark by which all great sweet wine is measured. Made from botrytis-shriveled Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc, picked berry by berry over many passes, Yquem is built to last for generations. This is the 1988 in half-bottle, from the celebrated 1988-1989-1990 trio, a classic, firm, beautifully balanced vintage. Decades on and from a private cellar, it has developed deep amber color and layers of dried fruit and spice while keeping its signature acidity. A treasure to share.
