A legendary Sauternes vintage in its finest form. Filhot's Creme de Tete is a selection of the estate's most botrytis-rich lots, made only in exceptional years, and 1990 was as exceptional as they come: a hot, dry summer drove concentration ranked among the greatest Sauternes vintages of the modern era. Filhot is a Deuxieme Cru Classe of the 1855 classification and one of the largest estates in the appellation, and this Semillon-based cuvee, filled out with Sauvignon Blanc and a touch of Muscadelle, marked the debut of its top bottling. Now amber and fully mature, it shows candied apricot, honey, and quince with the acidity to keep going. Privately sourced and rare.
