Robert Parker

90 points

"The 2015 Cote Rotie Classique is a bit chewy and tough but offers some classic Côte Rôtie notes of espresso, black olive and road tar. Leather and cassis round out the array of flavors in this medium to full-bodied effort that needs a few years to shed its appreciable tannin load." —Joe Czerwinski

More about Clusel-Roch

Guillaume Clusel continues a family legacy that began in 1969 on the steep granite slopes of Ampuis. His six hectares of Syrah in Côte-Rôtie are farmed organically; his half-hectare of Viognier in Condrieu sits on biotite granite and yields wines of mineral precision. Whole-bunch fermentation and natural practices preserve the fragrance. This is Northern Rhône doing what it does best.
