Camille Thiriet and Matt Chittick have quickly become one of Burgundy's most exciting young domaines, farming organically with horses in the southern Cote de Nuits among old hillside vines. 'Clos Magny' is a single-named Cote de Nuits-Villages parcel, and bottlings like this show just how much character these overlooked villages can deliver. The wine is structured and energetic Pinot Noir made with a light hand and minimal new oak, all about transparency to its limestone site. Expect savory dark red fruit, a touch of spice, and firm, fine-grained tannins with the freshness to age gracefully. Serious Burgundy from a name worth following.
