The 2019 vintage represents a fundamentally different expression of Clos de la Baronne—one of the warmest years of the century created supremely rich, ripe conditions that Lafon captured in a small, concentrated crop. In magnum format, this wine gains a crucial advantage: it will develop its complexity at a measured pace, allowing the muscular structure and tropical fruit richness of 2019 to integrate and evolve gracefully over decades. If 2015 Clos de la Baronne is ready to drink now, this magnum is a cellaring investment for those patient enough to hold until 2027–2040+, when its true potential emerges.
