Thirty-one years in barrel before bottling—the apex of Banyuls winemaking from the estate that championed the appellation. Dr. Gaston Parcé began bottling here in 1921; the domaine's Collection wines represent single barrels diverted from production and aged indefinitely. This 1986 spent a decade in 650-liter demi-muids, then another 21 years in a single 225-liter barrique before August 2017 bottling. Only three Collection vintages had been released publicly before this. Red cherry, strawberry, dark chocolate, caramelized nuts—the evolution of Grenache noir through patient oxidative aging. Museum-quality fortified wine from the "sea, sun, and stone" of the Côte Vermeille.
