A cult small-grower Gevrey with serious old-vine pedigree. Alexandrine Roy is the fourth generation at this tiny four-hectare domaine, which she farms like a personal garden, ploughing the soils and working with minimal intervention to let very old vines (parts of her holdings are decades old, some far older) speak clearly. This Vieilles Vignes bottling is a selection of the domaine's oldest vines in Gevrey-Chambertin. The 2015 was a ripe, generous, structured vintage built to age, so at around a decade this village wine should be drinking well now with plenty of life ahead. Pinot Noir. Decant.

"The 2015 Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes has a lovely red cherry and crushed strawberry-scented bouquet, the oak nicely integrated and exuding fine purity. The palate exudes pure Pinoté (for want of a better expression), fleshy ripe red cherries and strawberry fruit, a little salinity towards the finish, but I just like the way this flows.
