The village bottling anchors Domaine Duroché's portfolio, expressing the freshness and mineral orientation that define Pierre's work. Grown across 38 small parcels, this wine carries transparency and balance—neither heavy nor thin, but rather a clear window into Gevrey-Chambertin's limestone soils and continental climate. The 2023 shows bright red fruit and subtle spice with a crisp, linear palate; an everyday Burgundy that punches well above its modest classification.

Antonio Galloni

90 points

"The 2023 Gevrey-Chambertin Village has a perfumed and floral nose with a wilted rose petal note and a hint of rooibos infusing the red fruit. There's the typical Duroché purity here. The palate is tightly knit and linear with a slightly chalky texture, crisp, crunchy finish and a peppery aftertaste. This is well worth seeking out." —Neal Martin

Robert Parker

90 points

"The 2023 Gevrey-Chambertin Village offers up aromas of smoky berries, petals and loamy soil, followed by a medium-bodied, supple and succulent palate that's bright and lively, concluding with a saline finish." —William Kelley

More about Duroche

Gilles Duroché and his son Pierre run eight hectares of Gevrey-Chambertin, spanning village, premier cru, and grand cru levels across the appellation's finest sites. Hand-harvested, minimal oak—wines made to let the grapes reveal their purest form. Pierre is the fifth generation to work the vines here, taking over from his father in 2007. Fourth and fifth generation Burgundy, made with the kind of attention to detail that separates the serious from the pretenders.
