Domaine Duroché's Champ represents the refined, mineral-driven philosophy of Pierre Duroché, a fifth-generation vintner farming 8.5 hectares in Gevrey-Chambertin. This lieu-dit comes from two northern parcels of 40-45 year old vines, delivering textbook Côte de Nuits silhouette with exceptional freshness and salinity. The 2023 shows finely delineated raspberry, wild strawberry and crushed stone aromas, leading to a medium-bodied palate with lace-like tannins and an airy, lengthy finish. A minerally, elegant expression that rewards careful cellaring.

"The 2023 Gevrey-Chambertin Champ clearly has more fruit intensity than the regular village cuvée. It contains finely delineated raspberry, wild strawberry and crushed stone aromas. The palate is medium-bodied, taut and focused with lace-like tannins, plenty of salinity and an airy yet lengthy finish. This is one of Duroché's best entry-level cuvées." —Neal Martin

More about Duroche

Gilles Duroché and his son Pierre run eight hectares of Gevrey-Chambertin, spanning village, premier cru, and grand cru levels across the appellation's finest sites. Hand-harvested, minimal oak—wines made to let the grapes reveal their purest form. Pierre is the fifth generation to work the vines here, taking over from his father in 2007. Fourth and fifth generation Burgundy, made with the kind of attention to detail that separates the serious from the pretenders.
