A tiny, less-than-0.4-hectare parcel planted in 1998, Le Clos exemplifies Duroché's mineral vision and textbook expression of Gevrey's earthy power. The 2023 delivers a focused, detailed palate with beautiful terroir imprint—limestone minerality and fine-grained tannins dominate the structure rather than fruit heaviness. This is a wine of precision, built to age gracefully and reveal increasing complexity over years. An ideal introduction to age-worthy, classically proportioned Burgundy.

More about Duroche

Gilles Duroché and his son Pierre run eight hectares of Gevrey-Chambertin, spanning village, premier cru, and grand cru levels across the appellation's finest sites. Hand-harvested, minimal oak—wines made to let the grapes reveal their purest form. Pierre is the fifth generation to work the vines here, taking over from his father in 2007. Fourth and fifth generation Burgundy, made with the kind of attention to detail that separates the serious from the pretenders.
