Domaine Fontaine-Gagnard, run by Richard Fontaine and Laurence Gagnard with daughter Céline now involved, is a top-tier Chassagne address with grand cru holdings in Bâtard and Criots, and they bring the same precision to their reds. The 2017 vintage was a classical, balanced year. Eight years in, the wine has shed its early tightness and entered its drinking window with juicy red fruit, gentle structure, and the stony Chassagne signature.
