Vosne-Romanee is the most storied commune in all of Burgundy, home to the Romanee-Conti vineyard itself, and Regis Forey farms right at its heart. His village Vosne is assembled from fourteen old-vine parcels, some planted as far back as 1942, and it carries the appellation's unmistakable signature: that velvet-and-lace mix of exotic spice, perfume, and depth over silky, structured fruit. This is the classic, old-school, ageworthy style Forey is known for, built to reward patience. And in magnum, it ages slower and more gracefully still. A celebration bottle from one of the greatest addresses in wine.

"There is plenty of Vosne spice suffusing the ripe aromas of various red berries, poached plum and a discreet application of wood. There is more volume still to the delicious and slightly denser middle weight flavors that possess a beguiling mid-palate succulence before concluding in a lingering and balanced finale. To be clear, this isn't especially concentrated but neither is it light."

Forey farms 14 separate parcels that cover together a bit more than one hectare to create the village Vosne-Romanée. Most of the vineyards are on the northern side of Vosne bordering Vougeot. The oldest parcel was planted in 1942 and the major portion of this wine is from vines in excess of 40 years of age. Forey ages this wine in a mix of small barrel and demi-muid.
