Gemma Miro traded a biology career to come home and revive her grandfather's old vineyards in the hills between Falset and Priorat, and "La Lambretta" is named for the vintage scooter the two of them rode out to the vines with crates at harvest. Don't let the golden color fool you: this is a skin-contact orange wine made from 100% Moscatell (a local Muscat), macerated on its skins for about a week before fermenting in cement. It's raised with minimal interventionāunfined, unfiltered, next to no added sulfurāand the old vines grow in a fascinating mix of sandy granite, clay, and Priorat's signature slate. The result is an aromatic, textural, herb-and-citrus-driven orange wine with a great story behind every sip.
