Barolo Cerretta 2019 by Giacomo Conterno represents the apex of tradition and terroir. The Cerretta cru, located in Serralunga d’Alba, is known for its compact clay and limestone soils, which give the wine depth, structure, and a savory mineral streak. Since taking over the vineyard, Roberto Conterno has fine-tuned farming and cellar work, turning this into one of Barolo’s great single-vineyard bottlings—more linear and lifted than Francia, with dazzling energy.

The 2019 vintage shows classic Nebbiolo aromatics—rose petals, red cherry, mint, tar, and crushed stone—with tightly wound tannins, bright acidity, and a finish that lingers for minutes. Aged in large Slavonian oak botti, this is a wine of clarity, patience, and quiet power, built for decades of evolution.

In 1.5L magnum, this wine develops even more slowly and gracefully, and the OWC (original wood case) ensures provenance and presentation for collectors.

The Piedmont legend. Giovanni Conterno opened a tavern in 1908, made Barolo for it, and the first Riserva changed everything. His son Giacomo took over in 1934, and the estate's been making world-class Nebbiolo ever since. Monfortino Riserva is aged seven years minimum in huge botti—old school done perfectly.
