Domaine Heresztyn-Mazzini is a Gevrey-Chambertin estate run by Florence Heresztyn-Mazzini and her husband Simon Mazzini, working old family vines biodynamically. This Les Songes Vieilles Vignes is their old-vine village cuvee, a wine that consistently punches above its village classification. The 2013 came from a cool, late vintage that produced delicate, fresh, classically structured red Burgundy; with a decade-plus in bottle, it's now in a lovely mature spot. Pinot Noir for drinkers who like their Gevrey savory and resolved rather than fruity.
