"Here the nose is somewhat more deeply pitched with a hint of wood toast to the mix of red cherry, plum and briar scents. The supple, round and relatively forward flavors once again possess good refinement as the supporting tannins are quite fine though they are sufficiently dense to suggest that this should benefit from 3 to perhaps 6 years of cellaring. I would note that there is a touch of dryness present today though I would expect it to eventually dissipate with a few years of age."

"The 2013 Pinot Noir Estate Reserve is intriguing in the way it brings together supple fruit and bright, citrus-laced notes that add freshness throughout. More about Hirsch Vineyards

David Hirsch fell in love with Burgundy in the 1970s, then set out to translate that dream into Sonoma Coast terroir. Since 1980, he's planted a vineyard so fragmented (67 individual blocks) that it rivals Burgundy's own subdivision. All farmed biodynamically since 2011 with no machines, his Pinot Noir and Chardonnay capture the Sonoma Coast's bracing minerality and elegance—a love letter to place.
