Mainova, launched in 2019 by José Luís Monteiro and daughter Bárbara, represents a family's transition from pottery to wine—a shift as unexpected and rewarding as the wine itself. 'Moinante' means 'the nestling' in Portuguese, capturing the estate's nurturing philosophy. This orange wine (skin-contact white) undergoes three days of maceration with wild yeast fermentation and minimal sulfites, then cold decanting without additives. The result is aromatic complexity: orange blossom, mandarin peel, lemongrass, papaya, and juniper singing through a wine that's as natural as they come.
