The wine that started it all: the classic Morgon from Marcel Lapierre, one of the original Gang of Four who taught the world what living, natural Beaujolais could be. Old vines, semi-carbonic fermentation, and almost no added sulfur are the hallmarks of the no-makeup approach Lapierre helped pioneer. This is the estate's flagship bottling, the benchmark against which much of natural Beaujolais is still measured. The 2009 is now a mature back-vintage from a private cellar, and 2009 was a warm, generous vintage that has aged into savory complexity. A historic bottle from a legendary domaine and a great year.
